Bring hope to thousands searching for a safe place

In March, the coastal town of Palma, in northern Mozambique, was attacked by militants. Thousands of people have fled, some by boat and others by foot, seeking shelter in the surrounding jungle.

They’ve left behind their homes, their crops, and access to clean water and food.

These violent attacks began in 2017. As a result, international aid groups estimate the total number of displaced people in Mozambique to be 700,000.

Ambassador Aviation (AA), which is Mission Aviation Fellowship’s operation in Mozambique, has been evacuating refugees to a safe location, from Afungi to Pemba. Passengers to date have included women and children, the elderly, the sick and wounded, even a pregnant woman in distress.

AA has also begun carrying relief supplies, including 700 pounds of food, which VAMOZ (Voluntários Anónimos de Moçambique) is distributing to refugees who’ve been stuck at the Tanzania border without supplies, trying unsuccessfully to gain access.

Three other AA flights have carried nearly 2,500 pounds of medicine to Ibo Island, where many have fled.

We anticipate that AA will be responding to this humanitarian crisis for the next three months. Which means we have to raise $120,000 for this response. That’s why we need your help!

In fact, one generous donor has already offered to match up to $25,000, hoping that it will encourage others to give toward this important need.

First, pray for these precious people who’ve been displaced because of violence.

And please give today to help those who are seeking refuge and need access to food, water, and healthcare.

Your gift to MAF will allow AA to keep doing evacuation and relief flights in Mozambique. Your gift will bring hope where there is fear.
