Kevin and Kim Mills

Kevin and Kim Mills are excited to be serving with Mission Aviation Fellowship in Papua, Indonesia, at Hillcrest School (HIS). They enjoy being a part of the team providing quality education for the children of missionaries serving in Indonesia. Kevin is able to use his gifts in writing and communication to teach creative writing and yearbook, as well as producing various HIS publications. Kim enjoys being a part of the administration team, keeping the school running smoothly and teaching a few classes at the high school.

Kevin grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and by the age of 8 had already developed a love for following Jesus, as well as an affinity for writing of all kinds. He completed his bachelor's degree in English education from John Brown University, where he and Kim first met in 1991. They were later married in 1993 and now have three children, Kyler, Kaleb, and Kara. Kevin spends his spare time reading everything he can get his hands on, writing adventurous short stories, book summaries, the occasional inspirational novel and devotionals. He is passionate about transparent pursuit of God, encouraging younger generations to seek truth and pursue integrity, and living in radical obedience to His calling.

Kim grew up in many different locations (including Indonesia) as her parents were career missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators. She has a degree in math education, as well as a master's degree in mathematics. Her combination of love for Jesus and for math has driven her passion for missionary children's education, and she is committed to helping kids build excellence in education, character, and living lives of bold, authentic faith.

In the summer of 2012, Kevin and Kim were praying about which direction the Lord wanted them to move and felt His continued prompting to consider heading to the mission field. After inquiring what needs HIS had, they were excited by the continual confirmations to pursue such an abrupt career change. They have served at HIS in various roles since 2013, including dorm parents, teachers, and administrators.

In 2019, Kevin will be transitioning out of the classroom and working more with communications and student mentoring. Kim will be moving into the role of K-12 principal. They continue to be excited about the path that God is leading them on and look forward to what is ahead!
